MCP is an open-source standard for connecting AI applications to external systems. Google’s A2A protocol defines a standard way for agents built by different vendors or frameworks to collaborate.
Connection does not answer who may do what.
NIST’s AI Risk Management Framework calls for clear human–AI roles, documented oversight processes, accountability structures, continuous monitoring, and records that improve review and transparency.
The missing layer is coordination with evidence.
Open protocols can help systems connect. We believe real work also needs identity, scoped permission, visible handoffs, and a verifiable outcome—especially when work crosses organizational boundaries.

Why we’re building this
AI can already answer almost anything.
The harder problem is getting two sides to agree on what happens next.
Today, work between people still gets copied between chats, inboxes, portals, and meetings. Nobody knows what the AI was allowed to do, which version was approved, or whether the outcome actually happened.
Consonance is our attempt to make that handoff dependable: one request, clear permission, visible progress, and a record both sides can trust.
